The fabric came from a historic mansion on the East Side of Providence. RI. The pattern of the silk collar comes from a Kevlar bulletproof vest. It was a gift from a friend whose brother has seen and documented the Syrian Civil war with his own eyes.
Pattern imitated the IIIA Kevlar soft armor. Jewelry by Ariana Embiricos
Testing the functionality of Yellow sun-damaged vest
There are a total of 5 pockets and one secret pocket.
Raw edge and 3 panels, 2 ply silk top
The pattern is from tracing Kevlar panels Class IIIA. The collar follows the neck protection piece of the body armor. By combining the outline of actual armor and luscious silk, the desired effect was for the look to project strength and grace.
